Maine Good Sam
The Great Seal of the State of Maine was adopted in June 1820. There have been variations in the details of the seal, but the overall design and images remain true to the original. The center of the seal is a shield adorned with a tranquil scene of a moose resting in a field bordered by water and woods, pine tree stand tall directly behind the moose. On either side of the shield, a farmer rests on his scythe, and a sailor leans on an anchor. Above the shield is the motto "Dirigo" (I lead), and a stylized North Star.
In the Spirit of 'Dirigo', it is the hopes of the Maine Good Sam Club Chapters to lead folks to the best way to enjoy the RV life style, that is, to become a member of a local Good Sam Chapter. Many liken chapters to an extended family and when we gather at our Samboree RV rallies, it's a lot like a big family reunion.
Unlike what you hear in the news media every day, life is NOT all gloom and doom! It is what you make of it! Maine Good Sam'rs prove this by exemplifying the Samaritan Spirit. The rewards of neighbor helping neighbor are rich.
Since the early 1960's they have made sure others can enjoy living life while they do the same.
Each year chapters raise THOUSANDS of dollars for Maine charities, scholarships, and the needs of local families. In addition they engage in projects where the primary deposit is sweat equity! THEY are one of the biggest reasons the 'Smiling guy with the Halo' Smiles!
