The Dirigo e-Sams Intl. Chapter of Maine Good Sam is proud to work in partnership with Mr. Con Fullam, composer of The Maine Christmas Song, in the distribution of the music CD 'Christmas in Maine'. Many of you met Mr. Fullam at our 2009 Fall Samboree in Fryeburg and learned that proceeds from the sale of this cd are used To Feed the Hungry in Maine.

It doesn't seem possible that it was over 20 years ago that Bob Elliot at WCSH in Portland did a story on Christmas music and launched THE MAINE CHRISTMAS SONG. It so perfectly captured the spirit of Maine at Christmas that it became a treasured addition to holiday celebrations across the state and far beyond its borders.

Now we have a new collection featuring two new versions of THE MAINE CHRISTMAS SONG. One performed by the internationally acclaimed Windham Chamber Singers and the other IN FRENCH by 12 year old singing sensation from Fort Kent, Melanie Dorice Saucier. ( You just found the perfect Christmas gift for anyone with connections to The County.) There is also a bonus track of the original version sung by Malinda Liberty. Also included on the CD are Christmas carols and songs recorded by Grammy winners Noel Paul Stookey (Peter Paul and Mary) and Paul Sullivan, as well as Dave Mallett, Schooner Fare, Canadian country music star and current Maine resident Joan Kennedy, The Dave Rowe Trio, and Don Campbell. And in the finest tradition of Christmas giving, a portion of the sales from each CD will go to the Maine Council of Churches for their outreach programs throughout the state.
